Growing as Teachers
Teaching Sunday School is a beautiful responsibility and opportunity. This course is designed to support you in your Sunday School teaching.

- To be informed: Sunday School teachers will be taught sound concepts for teaching.
- To be motivated: Sunday School teachers will be inspired to teach.
- To be equipped: Sunday School teachers will be given a practical skillset to use in their teaching.

What you can expect in each lesson:
Expect to spend 45 - 75 minutes per lesson. The cadence goes as follows:
- Objectives: Each lesson has two objectives.
- Lesson Contents: The flow of the lesson is outlined.
- Motivation: The importance of the lesson is explained.
- Mindset: How a teacher thinks about the lesson objective is explained.
- Skillset: What a teacher can do to apply the lesson objectives are taught in this section.
- Note: The skillset content has been divided into two age bands. Content teaching geared for K-5th grade is separate from teaching geared for 6-12th grade. You will be able to select the teaching that best suits your needs.
- Resources: Helpful resources that support the lesson objectives are available here.
- Application: A few reflections to get you immediately applying the lesson are prompted in this section.
- Summary: The lesson is summarized succinctly here.
Two ways to participate:
This course can be completed individually or in a group. There would be additive value by participating as a co-student with your co-teacher. Each lesson raises apt reflections that facilitate dialogue between co-teachers. The Learning Connection platform facilitates communication between participants enrolled in the same group. That is, your fellow participants can see your entries and you will be able to see theirs. In this way, you learn together.
Required materials:
There is nothing to purchase for this course. This training will come to you by way of video and ready-made content. If you prefer having printable note sheets for each lesson, notes will be available in lesson 1 for download.
