Reflecting God's Love

The Apostolic Christian Church of America (ACCA) has seen significant changes in recent years, both within our denomination and in the surrounding culture. These changes have generated insightful questions and discussions within the brotherhood, such as:

• What is the future of our church?

• Where are we going as a brotherhood?

• What is our vision for the future?

• What is our identity?

• How do we respond proactively to numerous and quick-moving cultural influences?

These questions and discussions led to recognition of the need to articulate a Vision and Values Statement, or Guiding Principles, for the Apostolic Christian Church of America. The Elder Body formed the Vision Working Group (VWG) to further explore this topic. The VWG worked in consultation with elders, ministers, and other brothers and sisters to engage our members in gathering information and data to clearly understand and articulate a vision (Prov. 11:14, John 13:16). The group then received Elder Body approval for implementation of an “official” version of a Purpose, Vision, and Guiding Principles Statement that will work in alignment with our Statement of Faith and Four-Pillar Mission (John 14:26). The Vision and Purpose statements were finalized in 2019, and the Guiding Principles were approved in the summer of 2020. These new statements go hand in hand with the Four-Pillar Mission Statement that was developed previously. 

The primary purpose of this book is to outline the Vision, Purpose, Mission, and Guiding Principles statements, demonstrate the relationship among these statements, and encourage helpful discussion among all who attend our churches.
