Purpose and Applicability

Thank you for using The Learning Connection. As the provider of the system, Onward Media is committed to respecting the privacy rights of its users. For that reason, we've created this Privacy Policy (sometimes simply referred to as the "Policy") to inform users of the policies and procedures which govern The Learning Connection's (sometimes "the Website") collection, use, and disclosure of users' personal information, as well as your rights regarding that information.

Onward Media is wholly controlled by the Apostolic Christian Church of America. The Learning Connection system provides learning and connection for members of the church. Descriptions of how Onward Media and/or The Learning Connection collect, use, or store user information necessarily also apply to the Apostolic Christian Church of America, which will automatically have access to and control over collected data. All rights conferred upon Onward Media in this Policy are also conferred upon the Apostolic Christian Church of America.

The Policy is not applicable to any other site that you might be able to access from The Learning Connection, each of which could have data collection and use policies, practices, and procedures that differ significantly from this Policy. Please read this Policy in its entirety before using the Website or submitting any personal information.

By using The Learning Connection, you accept the practices described in this Policy. These practices may be changed from time to time at The Learning Connection's sole discretion.

Information Collection Practices

Federal law and the laws of several states seek to protect the personal information of consumers when such information is obtained by data collectors online. Generally, personal information is any data about a person that is readily identifiable to them as a specific individual.

User may login to The Learning Connection using either an existing AC Central user account or by creating an account on The Learning Connection.

The following information is collected from users:

  • First and last name
  • Email address
  • Birth month and year (Optional)
  • Gender (Optional)
  • Phone (Optional)

For those users logging in by using their AC Central user account, any data provided to AC Central will also be accessible in The Learning Connection. This includes the following additional data beyond those listed above:

  • Name of user's home church
  • Role in their church

Those logging in by using their AC Central user account should review its privacy policy

For those without an AC Central account who create a Learning Connection account, use of Personal Information will be limited to the purpose of the operation of The Learning Connection, which is specifically to provide spiritually helpful learning to members and attendees of the Apostolic Christian Church of America.

Course Data

Users of The Learning Connection will be inputting course response data into their personal courses. This data will be protected in a few different ways. First, user course input data cannot be created or altered by anyone except the enrolled user. Secondly, in the event that users are taking a course with others, all participants in the same course enrolled together in the same group can read the input data from other participants. Third, users can delete any course they are enrolled in or have completed and all personal course input data will be deleted. Further, all personal course input data that was shared with others in the shared group will be deleted from the interface of all shared users.

Opt-Out, Change, or Delete User Information

If you wish to change any information provided to The Learning Connection through the following steps:

  1. Click on your user icon (your initials) at top right of the screen
  2. Click on "Edit User Account"
  3. Change information as desired

If the user is logged in using an AC Central account, user information must be edited there.

Users may delete their accounts and all associated data by clicking the "Delete Account" button in the "Edit User Account" page.

For AC Central users, deleting their account on The Learning Connection will only delete data on The Learning Connection and will not affect their AC Central account.

Cookie/Tracking Technology

The Website may use cookie and tracking technology to keep you logged in for access to your personalized content, and to analyze traffic. A cookie is a small amount of data that is sent to your browser from a web server and stored on your computer or device. Cookie and tracking technology are useful for gathering non-identifying website usage data, such as browser type and operating system, and tracking the number of hits and visits to our Website. Cookies also help us understand how visitors use the Website and so we can potentially customize the system for visitors. Our cookies and tracking technology do not generate personal data and do not read personal data from your computer or device.

Distribution of Information

No Personal Information collected by the website will be shared except under very limited circumstances, including the following:

  • When Onward Media is permitted or required by law or law enforcement to share personally identifiable information of its users, it may do so.
  • When Onward Media is attempting to protect itself and/or its users against or prevent actual or potential fraud or unauthorized transactions, it may share some or all of a user's personally identifiable information.
  • When Onward Media is investigating fraud which has already taken place, it may share some or all of a user's personally identifiable information.
  • Users' information is not sold or otherwise provided to third parties for marketing purposes.

Commitment to Data Security

Onward Media is committed to the safety and protection of its online users and their Personal Information. The Learning Connection uses commercially acceptable organizational, technical, and administrative measures to protect Personal Information to the best of its ability. These measures include procedures that limit access to users' Personal Information to employees, volunteers, and vendors of Onward Media and the Apostolic Christian Church of America who need to know such information to operate the Website. If you have reason to believe that your interaction with The Learning Connection is no longer secure, please immediately notify us in accordance with the "Privacy Contact Information" section below.

Be advised that no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we always strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. If The Learning Connection experiences a security breach in which users' Personal Information has been compromised, we will inform you as soon as possible after we discover the breach, at no charge to you.

Children's Privacy

The Learning Connection does not seek to collect or store the Personal Information of any person under 13 years of age. The Learning Connection routinely checks its registry list for accounts showing a birth month and year indicating a user under 13 years of age, and promptly deletes these accounts. If a parent or legal guardian learns that their child has given Personal Information to The Learning Connection without their consent or approval, they may email webmaster@apostolicchristian.org request that their child's account and personal information is deleted, and we will do so as soon as possible.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

The Learning Connection may, at any time, add, change, update, or modify this Policy. These changes become effective immediately upon posting on the Website or App. It is the user's responsibility to review this Policy from time to time to ensure that the user continues to agree with the Policy's terms. We will also update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this Policy.

Users are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
